Generating awareness for a good cause.
Macmillan Cancer Support gave the Image Group the opportunity to help promote their "Cost of Cancer" campaign. This campaign was designed to highlight the spiraling cost that cancer treatment causes to a patient and their family. Macmillan lead the way in helping those who need financial assistance by offering their "Benefit Expert Advisers" to help, understand and support those in need, to apply for benefits they are entitled to.
The brief was for the Image Group to create a 3x3 metre lifesize ‘Monopoly’ style board game that would be located at Kings Cross station to promote this campaign. Passers by would be invited to "have a go" while at the same time raising awareness. As this was going to be displayed in a public area, it needed to have a good visual impact and also user friendliness.
Various substrates were looked into and after testing the suitability of various materials, a solution was found that was durable and hard wearing and that would meet the required lead times. In the end Digitally Printed Linoleum was used for the game base and the figures were made with Foamex and designed to be fitted together and dismantled for easy storage and transportation.
The Image Group's Account Manager, Ben Crosby said:
