Zund Cutter - Zund-erful New Cutter Fuels Image Group Expansion

The Image Group has fuelled expansion plans by investing more than £90,000 on a new Zund i-cut finishing machine.

The company is now the first in Manchester - and one of the only large format printing companies in the UK - to be able to cut everything from pvc banners to foamex exhibition panels; and from promotional vinyls to paper posters at 40 square metres per hour.

Image Group David Brunt - Operations Director said,

"The Zund cutter continues the Image Group's commitment to invest in the best equipment we can find. We have already invested significantly in a new super-wide format Vutek QS 5 colour digital print machine. But with the sheer speed of the new printers, plus our ambitious plans to win even more business, we needed to upgrade our finishing."

The new Zund Cutter follows lightly drawn contours on the reverse of artwork to produce a cut even cleaner than a scalpel. And the cutter also features a creasing function for cardboard and point of sale work.

David adds,

"The new Zund cutter can finish artwork at the equivalent speed of six human cutters. We've effectively doubled our cutting capacity in one fell swoop. And that puts us in a very secure position as we expand in the flat bed printing market over the forthcoming years."

Last month The Image Group confirmed that 2007 has been the best in their ten year history. With 35 staff, The Image Group posted a six-figure turnover increase of more than 25% to more than £3 million.

The turnover increase co-incided with Image Group's move to new premises in Eccles; a newly revamped website and, the launch of the company's biggest-ever free buyers' guide.
