Product Information
Choosing the right Exhibition Flooring is an important aspect of any custom built exhibition
space or temporary display. Platform floors, raised floors, disability ramps, integrated display
features... Lots of questions that all need careful consideration.
So, let’s start by making things easy.
Point 1: If you’re designing a stand or display – the first question is one of power, water and
waste.
Do you need to run electrics, water or waste into the stand area for computers, display features,
reception desks, lighting etc. If so, the chances are you will require a raised floor. This enables us
to run cables and / or pipes under the flooring to keep your display area safe and clear.
Most raised floors are simple affairs. 2” timber stanchions with a plywood covering makes our standard
raised floor. This gives us a flat, stable surface to build a stand and to lay a floor covering.
Raised floors are also popular because they add gravitas to the stand area. In our experience,
exhibitors and delegates enjoy the feeling of walking on to a stand space.
If you are considering using a raised platform floor it is usually necessary to include a ramp within
the design of your stand allowing easy access for disabled visitors. This is a requirement under DDA
regulations at most venues in the UK.
Point 2: If you have no specific requirement for electrics water or waste in the stand area,
you could consider using a covering which sits directly on the venue floor itself.
In summary.
Raised floors are ideal for disguising electrical cables, water pipes and waste pipes. They add
authority to a stand space and do a great job of defining your exhibition area.
Flat carpeted floors are also attractive and offer cost savings on space only stands.
